Poised Shut Down: What Are the Best Poised Alternatives Now?

Few tools copy Poised's live, in-call coaching. The closest is Microsoft Teams' built-in Speaker Coach, which gives private real-time feedback during Teams meetings; Yoodli's coach sends a weekly digest on how you came across in real meetings. For practice before a meeting, use a rehearsal tool: PowerPoint Speaker Coach (free preview), Orai or Speeko for solo drills, or Speaking Coach for a partner who talks back.

What happened to Poised

When we checked in October 2026, Poised's site showed a banner: "Poised is shutting down on 10/8/2026". The site describes what it did: an AI communication coach with "real-time feedback to help you speak confidently during calls", live speaker notes that tracked your agenda, meeting summaries and action items without a bot joining, and analytics on filler words and hedging words. The site also links to a related product, "Shortcut by Poised", without saying whether it replaces Poised.

If you relied on Poised, you were probably using it for one of two things. They have different replacements.

We make Speaking Coach, which only covers the second. We've listed it only where it fits.

Live, in-meeting feedback

Honest answer: few tools copy Poised's live, in-call model. Outside Teams, we didn't find a direct replacement for private live nudges.

Microsoft Teams Speaker Coach. If your company uses Teams, this is the closest match. Microsoft's admin documentation, updated in 2026, says it processes your audio while you present and gives "private real-time feedback and suggestions for improvement", then a summary report after the meeting that only you can view. It's on by default, but your IT admin can turn it off, so check your meeting's options menu.

Yoodli. As of October 2026, Yoodli lists integrations with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, and its public speaking page describes a coach that sends "a weekly digest on how you came across in real meetings". That's feedback after the fact, not live nudges. Individual plans start with 5 free sessions, then Pro at $8 a month billed annually; much of Yoodli's product is aimed at company training teams.

Practice before the meeting

Poised's live nudges helped in the moment. Rehearsal fixes the habit before the moment, so in the real call you only have to think about your content, not your "ums".

  • PowerPoint Speaker Coach. Free in preview with a Microsoft account. Flags pace, pitch, fillers, informal phrases and reading slides aloud, with a report. English only.
  • Orai. A phone app that scores fillers, pace, clarity, energy and conciseness on solo recordings; $12.99 a month or $49.99 a year on the App Store, English only.
  • Speeko. Real-time voice tracking with alerts while you practice, plus short exercises; on iOS, Android, Mac and web.
  • Speaking Coach (ours). An AI voice partner plays the person on the other side of your meeting: your manager, a client, a skeptical colleague. It follows up on what you said. Afterwards you see your pace, fillers, long pauses and how quickly you started, with tips that quote your words, and you can retry the one moment that went badly for 90 seconds. Built-in scenes include "Give a clear work update", "Disagree in a meeting" and "Deliver bad news". iPhone and Android, 20 languages.

A free routine to replace Poised's after-call stats

You can rebuild much of the post-meeting review yourself:

  1. Turn on captions or transcription in your meeting app, where your company allows it.
  2. After an important call, copy your own lines into our free filler word counter, which accepts pasted text.
  3. Check your pace on a recording of yourself with the pace checker. Conversational English is often around 120 to 160 words per minute.
  4. Pick one habit for the week (for example, pausing instead of "so") and rehearse your next update with it.

Our guide to speaking up in meetings covers the content side.
